Reflexology

Reflexology is a wonderful touch therapy, that helps with our well-being and to balance and heal. It assists the body to function to its full potential – helping it to achieve homeostasis (a state of balance within the body).  This in turn can help with preventing illness.

Reflexology is non intrusive and a form of massage where the reflexologist applies different amounts of pressure to pressure points within the feet, hands, face and ears.  It is believed that each of these pressure points correspond to different areas within our bodies.  By massaging these points we help to open up energy pathways, which can have an analgesic affect, releasing endorphins (our bodies natural pain killer).  Reflexologists do not diagnose or cure, however the benefits of receiving Reflexology are countless.  These include :

Relaxation and improved well being.

Aids improved sleep.

Helps reduce stress, tension, depression, anxiety.

Can help with relieving pain.

Improves circulation.

Can boost the immune system and energy levels.

Helps with symptoms of menopause, pms, hormonal imbalances.

Can help with headaches/migraines.

Can help with digestive problems (IBS/chrons etc).

Can help with muscular tension (back/neck/shoulders/hip/knee pain).

What to expect from your Reflexology Treatment

Your first visit will last approximately 80 minutes in total, this allows time for a thorough consultation, followed by a 60 minute treatment.

During your consultation we will discuss your medical history, diet and lifestyle.  This will therefore be used to enhance your treatment and allow a personal/tailored experience. All information you provide will be treated confidentially.

During your treatment you can either choose to relax on a massage table or recline in a comfortable chair designed for a Reflexology treatment.  You will only need to remove any footwear.  It is a good idea to wear loose, comfortable clothing.  This allows your treatment to include a massage to the lower leg.

You have the option of having  calming music played, whilst your treatment takes place.  I also offer the option of essential oils being diffused with the treatment room.  I only use certifed pure oils.

Indian head massage

Indian head massage is a relaxing holistic treatment
that uses acupressure massage on the head, face, neck and shoulders. It
should rebalance your body’s energies.

Part of the Hindu health care practice of Ayurveda,
Indian head massage focuses on your head, neck and shoulders and was
originally used to improve scalp and hair condition. It is a deep
massage, using a variety of pressure and techniques, including circular
massage strokes on your scalp, deep tissue work on your shoulders, and
stretching the neck.
